Windshield chip repair in a Kanata office parking lot

Repaired while you're at work

Work in the Kanata North tech park? You don't have to take time off to deal with a chipped windshield. Tell us where you're parked along March Road, Legget Drive or Terry Fox, and we'll repair it in the lot while you're at your desk. Most chips are done in about half an hour, and you'll come back to a stabilized windshield.

The same goes for retail and plaza lots around Kanata Centrum and Hazeldean Road, or the lot outside your gym.

Highway 417 and the chips that come with it

If you commute on the 417, you already know the sound. Gravel kicked up between Eagleson and the Queensway, sanding in the winter and construction zones all leave their mark on Kanata windshields. A fresh chip is the easiest and cheapest thing to fix. Leave it through a few cold snaps and a hot defroster, and it can spread into a crack that needs a full replacement.

Our advice: put a piece of clear tape over a new chip to keep dirt and water out, then book a repair.

What we can fix

Rock chips, from $75

Bullseyes, stars and combination breaks are filled with clear resin, which bonds the glass, stops the spread and makes the chip far less visible.

Cracks up to about 14"

Single cracks up to roughly 14 inches can usually be repaired. Expect a faint line to remain, but the crack is stabilized. Your price is confirmed before we start.

When we'll tell you to replace instead

We repair to the industry ROLAGS standard and learned the trade in a professional windshield repair shop. If damage is too long, sits right in the driver's line of sight, or runs to the edge of the glass, we'll say so plainly rather than sell you a repair that won't hold.

Kanata windshield repair FAQ

Can you repair my windshield in my office parking lot in Kanata North?

+

Yes. Most of the business park lots are perfect. Just tell us where you're parked and roughly when you'll be in. We only need a reasonably level spot with some room around the windshield.

Do I need to be there during the repair?

+

Not necessarily. For workplace repairs, we can arrange a quick handoff and payment by e-transfer, so you don't need to leave your desk for long.

What does a chip repair cost in Kanata?

+

Chips start at $75 and cracks are $100 flat. A mobile fee based on travel time is added and shown in your quote. If you'd rather skip it, you can bring your car to us in Barrhaven.

How fast should I get a new chip fixed?

+

As soon as you can. Ottawa temperature swings, defrosters and potholes can turn a chip into a crack quickly. Covering it with clear tape until we arrive helps keep it clean for a better repair.

Will it be completely invisible?

+

Usually not 100%. The repair restores strength and greatly improves the look, but a faint mark can remain, especially on cracks. Stopping the spread is the priority.

My crack is longer than a dollar bill. Is it still repairable?

+

Possibly. We can repair single cracks up to about 14 inches, which is the industry-standard limit. Longer than that, we'll tell you honestly that it needs a replacement.
